Puppy Potty training PROBLEMS?

My Chia/pom puppy broke her leg at 10 wks old, she was doing great at the whole potty training before, but while she had a cast, she had a hard time going outside. She got her cast off at 16 weeks old, and every time I take her out of her crate and outside to go, she will pee, but then she comes in and pees and poops AGAIN right after. I have even left outside for long periods of time and it is almost like she holds it until she is let in ??!!?? HELP !! She will go outside and pee when I say "go potty" with no hesitation, and I praise her every time and give her a treat, but she still comes in and goes by the door, and even worse in her crate. I do scold her immediately and take her back outside, but it has been almost a month and it doesn’t seem to be improving. She is 5 mo old now, is she just too young to get it!
Also what is the best way to eliminate the odor for her urine in the house so she won’t want to go in that spot again, someone once told me something about vinegar, but what kind and what do I do with it ??

Just getting puppy pads. My husky used them all the time. Little by litle I would bring it closer to the door and finally she got the hang of it. I only use it now in case she has an emergency.

I am sorry to hear about your puppy getting hurt. I am glad she is doing better. No I don’t think she is too young to get it. How do you scold her? I know people have a problem with rubbing their nose in it and swating their butts (lightly), but that has worked for all my dogs. I have mostly had bigger dogs. I have heard that with the smaller dogs they are harder to train. When I got my Shih Tzu I wanted to wring her neck several times. I was ready to give her back. I have never had that much trouble before. Then I opened the doggy door and pushed her out then I opened the door and pushed her back in. Once she realized she could do it on her own that was the end of cleaning up the mess. I am not a fan of the crate. My dogs have free run of the house. However, I am an at home mom that never leaves the house otherwise it might be a different story while I was training a new pet.

No she is not too young to get it. Try taking her for a longer walk rather than just going out for a quick minute and making her go. Maybe she resents that. I think a dog likes to smell other dogs places where they have gone. My little yorkie pees 8- 10 times when I walk her or at least she tries to. Its part of there make up to leave their scent. If this don’t work I would start all over and crate train her. If this doesn’t work she will need a pet trainer. I think one these methods will work though. Good Luck to you and your little puppy.

If she goes in her crate I fear you have a bigger problem than just the breed..Do you catch her in the act of pottying in the house?? If so scare her while in the middle of it and immediately put her out.. Other wise maybe talk with your vet and see if there may be a different problem.. If not just tons of work and good luck:>

If she pees and potties in multiple spots throughout the house she may be surffuring from a seperation anxiety. My guess is that you let her out as soon as you walk in the door. If this is the case, try letting her settle for a few minutes before taking her out.
