When he leaves his crate, you should keep a close watch at him. If you don’t, blame no one but yourself if any soiling incident happens inside the house. It’s your responsibility to correct him as soon as he eliminates at the spot he’s not supposed to.
If you’re wondering how to toilet train your puppy, i.e. puppy knows where to go when he needs to relieve himself, these are a couple of the things you can do to help your puppy learn better.

If everything goes smooth and no mishaps occurs, you should be able to train your puppy without any problems. Note that once accidents begin to happen, it can be really difficult to make your puppy break the pattern.
Also remember that not to give your puppy any freedom when you are trying to house break him. Puppies are like little kids; they are curious and would be happy to do anything except to remain in the crate. Haha!
If you tolerate him and allow him to make mistakes, it’ll be difficult to break him off the bad habits. You’ll have to become stricter with your puppy later. But if you start training when your puppy is young and impose the rules right from the beginning, he’ll be a happy member of your family in a short matter of time.
